Fishing was good in the morning, then slowed up at 9:00am. I caught a nice Corvina about 4lbs. Great fight with 8lbs line and ghost shrimp for bait. Lots of small perch but its still early in the season, so it will get a lot better when the weather gets right. Something to remember: when the Strawberry are out it’s the right time for the big perch bite… Anyone fish Bolsa Chica????

WAS A GREAT MORNING FOR FISHING BUT, THE FISH WEREN’T BITTING. FROM ZUMA TO SANTA MONICA ALL SMALL PERCH. THERE WAS SOME LARGE CORVINA’S THOUGH. DONCO FISHING CLUB WAS AT ZUMA AND FOUND THE CORVINAS 6 TO 8 INCHES OUT OF THE 5 GALLON BUCKETS. THE REST WERE FISHING STORIES. DIDN’T GET OUT TO BOLSA CHICA, IF ANY ONE WAS FISHING THERE PLEASE POST YOUR CATCH.

Try down south a bit and see if the haibuts are ready to bite (keepers) A friend of ours said that there were lots of shorts so there has to be some keepers there too. South of the wild life reserve inlet that was recently opened. see you there… tommytuna.

The weather was kinda bad, with rain and wind in the morning time til 8am. The rest of the day was not to bad. Tough fishing, lot of little guys, so it was just fun catching and releasing the fish. The current was ripping hard to the south. By the time you wound up the slack after the cast, the line was fifty feet past you and tring to beach the bait… all in all it ws fun to get away for a few hours and relax… til next weekend… tommytuna….
